The Great Nicaragua Book Tour 2014!

The great, and intense, 4-day Nicaragua Book Tour came to an end right here in León on tuesday 4th of november. The three authors Ken Morris, Joe Frazier and Silvio Sirias embarked on a big adventure and challenge when they started their book tour in San Juan del Sur on the saturday, and then did Granada, Managua and at last León - in only 4 days! I am sure it must have been so intense, interesting, fun and exhausting for them. We are so grateful they did this and contributed with their presence and knowledge to the cultural life of Nicaragua. Their enthusiasm and passion for Nicaragua and the region is contagious and they had the audience´ full attention from the second they started talking.

Joe had an extra challenging day as he lost his wallet and passport almost as soon as he arrived León. Luckily, we managed to get his passport back through Rigo´s great networking, and so he could continue his plan to go to El Salvador some days later. Puh! I hope León hasn´t scared him off completely - last time he was here in 1979 he was immediately arrested upon arrival. We hope you come back one day Joe!

Excited before the event; me together with Silvio and Troy.

Here in León we were happy to have a small, but very engaged crowd, that kept asking good questions to the authors. Many of them also stayed for a beer after the book presentation, to talk to the authors and get their books signed.

All in all it was a great experience for us, the authors and the audience. I´m not sure we can top this event! However, we will continue to try to offer only the best for the booklovers in León. And together with Lucha Libro in Granada we will keep inviting the best authors from the region and who writes about the region. I want to thank Troy from Lucha Libro again for all his work and for always including us in his plans.

I can already say that the next big event is in the making, and it will be very, very good!
